The LDraw Steering Committee has been in contact with the LEGO Universe team, and to ease up the conversion between LDraw and LEGO Digital Designer, the LEGO Universe Team has shared part shapes with the LDraw.org community. They need some clean-up to be suitable for the LDraw Parts Tracker.

Cleansing

If you want to help by cleansing a part, just go through the new parts charts and download the file you want to work on, but don't forget to edit the wiki page showing that you are working on the part in order to avoid overlap.

Special attention has to be paid to new header specs, BFC, color correction, primitive substitution, subfiling and code grouping. Also origin and orientation are to be changed where needed.

Please use the following guideline for the header:

0 PartDescription
0 Name: Filename.dat
0 Author: RealName [UserName]
0 !LDRAW_ORG Unofficial_Part
0 !LICENSE Redistributable under CCAL version 2.0 : see CAreadme.txt

...

0 !HISTORY YYYY-MM-DD {The LEGO Universe Team} Original part shape
0 !HISTORY YYYY-MM-DD [UserName] File preparation for LDraw Parts Tracker

LEGO Universe Team's !HISTORY date can be found at the chart page, while the latter date is the date of your submission.

Important notes

* Only authors who have affirmed the LDraw Contributor Agreement are allowed to submit cleansed files to the Parts Tracker. * Once the part has been submitted to the Parts Tracker, any reviewer finding errors may fix them immediately and re-submit the fix without asking permission, since the original author is the LEGO Universe Team - meaning that anybody can fix sent parts without waiting the three months after posting a hold vote. * The green polygons in part files are bits that contain errors - treat them with care * The “m” at the start of the part numbers has been added by the LU Team for internal reasons - please ignore them.
