L3P is a command-line tool used for converting LDraw models into POV-Ray-compatible files for rendering.

Usage

Usage: l3p [options] modelpath [povpath] [options] -b[<color>] background color, -b gives 0.3,0.8,1 -cg<la>,<lo>[,<r>] camera globe position, default is 30,45,0 -cc<x>,<y>,<z> camera coordinates (location) -cla<x>,<y>,<z> camera look_at coordinates -ca<a> camera angle, default is 67.38 degrees -cra<a> camera roll angle, default is 0 degrees -co[<s>] orthographic camera, optional scalefactor -csl left stereo camera -csr right stereo camera -csa<a> stereo camera angle, default is 5 degrees (~1/12) -f[<type>][<y>] floor at <y>, default y is just below model -lg<la>,<lo>,<r>[,<color>] lightsource globe position, default color is 15 -lc<x>,<y>,<z>[,<color>] lightsource coordinates, default color is 15 -l use positions and colors of light.dat files as lightsources -ld default lightsources too (use with -l) -lsl shadowless lights -lgeo use LGEO parts and colors -ar use Anton Raves parts and LGEO colors -nolgc[f] don't use LGEO colors [nor finishes] -q<n> quality level 0..4, default is 2 -bu bumps -cpct<p> percentage to move camera further back, default is 0 -csky<x>,<y>,<z> camera sky vector, default is 0,-1,0 -car<ar> camera aspect ratio, default is 1.33 (4/3) -p don't substitute any primitives in the P directory with POV equivalents -sw<w> seam width, default is 0.5 -c<color> default part color, default color is 7 -w<n> set warning level 0..3, default is 0 -sc StepClock, add "#if (clock > n)" at steps -scm StepClock only at steps in Model (not in submodels) -enp exclude non-POV code generation (L3P IFNOTPOV) -studs0 no studs -ib<file> include file at beginning of POV file -ic[<file>] no camera, optional include file -il[<file>] no lights, optional include file -ie<file> include file at end of POV file -mp<v> add MegaPOV version statement -pov Launch POV-Ray upon successful writing of POV file -o overwrite POV file if it already exists -check check modelpath for errors, Warning level is default 1. modelpath may be a directory, which is checked recursively. If no modelpath given all files in P and PARTS are checked. -cpa<a> co-planar-angle, default is 3 degrees (1 if -check) -stdout redirect stderr to stdout, must be first argument -pp print primitives, prints a list of the primitives having POV equivalents -pp -check check all primitives in P if they have a POV equivalent -pc print known color names -upd Check L3P's homepage for newer version -ldd<dir> set LDRAWDIR, <dir> must have the P, PARTS and MODELS directories -lgd<dir> set LGEODIR, <dir> must be the lgeo directory -ldc[<path>] alternative ldconfig.ldr or none <la> latitude, 90=N=-y, -90=S=+y. <lo> longitude in xz, 0=-z, 90=E=+x, -90=W=-x <r> is radius. If not specified for camera it will be as close to model as possible, if negative then camera will be -<r>% further away. If zero for lightsource, the camera distance is used. You can specify many -lc/lg options. <color> is an LDraw color name or number, extended/direct color (0x0tRRGGBB), #RRGGBB or <r>,<g>,<b> in the range 0..1 like POV-Ray. If povpath is not specified or is a directory, it will be modelfilename + .pov See also l3p.txt and http://www.hassings.dk/l3/l3p.html (or http://www.ldraw.org)
